5 YouTube Channels For Investors

Most think of YouTube as a place to watch prank videos, see Mr. Beast giveaway a million dollars, or amuse themselves with a compilation of football big hits.

Under the skin though it’s somewhere one can find a massive variety of educational content. Over the past couple of years I have honestly watched way to many hours of YouTube (I’ll admit, I’m also a premium subscriber).

In that time though I have discovered some great channels in the stock and investing niche. Here is a list of my five favorite YouTube channels for investing content in 2024.

(Click the YouTube profile picture to be directed to each channel.)

The Money Guy Show

If you have read this email before you have likely heard of The Money Guy show as I have referenced their content in a number of posts.

They technically are a podcast, but their YouTube channel has great 5-10min clips where they answer specific questions. These clips are my favorite to watch as the short videos are easy to consume and provide a quick answer on the topic.

Overall Brian and Bo are a class act and consistently give out what I think to be sound financial advice.

Some of my recent posts inspired by them include Your 2024 Financial Game Plan and Vehicles Gone Wild.

Jarrad Morrow

Want to watch someone who is not afraid to tell it like it is? Then Jarrad Morrow is your guy.

His content focuses primarily on 401ks, Roth IRAs, ETFs/index funds, HSAs, and general long term investing information. This content is often dry and boring, but Jarrad does a great job of making these topics interesting through his use of data, graphics, and sarcasm.

I recently found Jarrad and honestly wish I would have stumbled across his videos years ago. Give his channel a look if you want to add a little spice to your YouTube subscriptions.

JJ Buckner

The man JJ. He has the smallest subscriber base on this list, but don’t make any conclusions.

What I like about JJs content is that his videos feel real. Maybe it’s his simple YouTube backdrop, or the way he describes topics, but when you watch JJ’s videos you feel like you are just sitting across the table from him having a normal conversation.

The majority of JJ’s content is based around long term investing but he also dabbles in individual stocks and selling options. If those are something you might find interesting, JJ’s channel is a great place to start.

Joseph Carlson

Joseph’s channel is one I have been watching for a couple years.

The videos on Joseph’s channel are always packed full of information. His content encompasses a wide variety of investing topics ranging from why he is buying a certain stock to how to invest in a stock market bubble.

The research behind Joseph’s videos is clear to see and he does a great job of piecing together information to form his conclusions. His channel is a great spot for those looking for ideas on how to analyze a stock.

He also has a second channel called “Joseph Carlson After Hours” where he reacts to market news.

Nate O’Brien

Last but not least is Nate.

You won’t find Nate pitching a stock analysis on his channel. Instead he focuses on topics around investing including diversification, reducing risk, and making sure you have a portfolio that will grow passively for years.

On top of his investing content he also does videos over his favorite books, online business, and tips on how to save more. He doesn’t put out near the amount of videos as others on this list do, but they are nonetheless packed with good information.

Honorable Mention: Graham Stephan

Graham is the OG finance youtuber. Over the last few years his channel has absolutely blown up, and rightly so as his content is high quality.

Graham does not cover any individual stocks as he is a major advocate for buying and holding low cost index funds. Many of his videos also go into depth on popular finance topics like owning vehicles, using credit cards wisely, and rent houses.

His videos are purely based on data and facts which is a refreshing take in a world full of bias opinions.

Conclusion

While YouTube is typically known for entertainment purposes I recommend subscribing to at least a few of the individuals above.

Seeing alternate viewpoints and hearing others talk about investing strategies, retirement accounts, and market news is a quick and easy way to educate yourself.
